A bearing bush is an annular part used to support a crankshaft, usually made of a lower quality alloy material, such as copper and aluminum alloy. They are mounted on the crankshaft journal to form a friction surface to reduce direct metal contact between the crankshaft and the crankcase.
Its functions mainly include:
Reduce friction: The bearing shell forms a friction surface between the crankshaft and the crankcase, reducing direct metal-to-metal friction, thereby reducing energy loss and wear.
Distributed pressure: The crankshaft is under great pressure and load when it is working, and the bearing bush is able to distribute these forces over a larger surface area, reducing the local pressure on the crankshaft and improving the carrying capacity.
Cooling lubrication: The oil groove and oil hole on the bearing can supply lubricating oil to the friction surface, forming a lubricating film, reducing friction and heat generation, and playing a cooling role.
